Primers!!!

So it seems that whenever I do makeovers, women always ask me "why do you use a primer?". Well, there are definitely a few different reasons why I use them and why I suggest them. Of course there are different types of primers for different things. You have your lip primer, eye primer, and even foundation primer.

Lip Primer
Lip primers are great to use especially when wearing lipsticks. Lip primers are going to help keep your lips moisturized (if using the right kind) as well as keeping your lipstick, lipgloss, or lipstain on your lips. I call lip primers the foundation for your lip color while giving you a true color, a smoother finish, it will fill in the lines on your lips and some will even plump your lips. When looking for a great primer, ask yourself what do you want out of your primer. Compare them and see which one will best fit your needs. Below are a list of some primers that you can try out...

Urban Decay Lip Primer Potion                         Stila One Step PrimeColor
Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer                  Benefit Cosmetics
e.l.f. Studio Lip Primer and Plumper                   Lip Fusion XL Lip Primer
Guerlain Kiss Kiss Liplift

Eye Primer
Eye primers are basically the same concept with your lip primer honestly. Eye primers are going to make your eyeshadows more vibrant in color, stay on longer, help elevate creases in your shadow, and give you a smoother finish!

Too Faced Shadow Insurace                             NYX eyeshadow base

Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray

Foundation Primer
Your foundation primer is also going to do a number of things for your skin depending on the brand. They are great for giving you a flawless effect to your foundation, help even your skin tone, give a smooth finish, help the color stay on your face, reduce oil build up, fill in lines and wrinkles, help conceal pores, cover discoloration, as well as give you an airbrushed look to your foundation. I really do like foundation primers because they can really give you a flawless and radiant complexion. Honestly, when painting the walls in your home, wouldn't you use a primer first? Why not use one before you "paint" your face?
